Eastern Samar State University (ESSU) has become the first university in Visayas to partner with Bixter Academy for a paid international internship program, primarily benefiting students in agriculture and related fields.
A Memorandum of Agreement was signed by Bixter Academy CEO Nataliya Jorgensen and ESSU President Dr. Andres Pagatpatan, with the support of the provincial government led by Gov. RV Evardone.
The initiative, which began in 2025, was facilitated by the provincial government under the leadership of former governor Ben P. Evardone with the help of Glenda Dulfo of the Bureau of Immigration, a native of Borongan City.
Gov. RV Evardone underscored that expanding opportunities for Estehanons has long been his advocacy, emphasizing that the program opens global pathways for students to grow, support their families, and bring pride to Eastern Samar.
He also thanked Bixter Academy for investing in the potential of Estehanon youth.
The partnership is expected to strengthen global exposure and career opportunities for ESSU students and alumni while advancing the province’s education and workforce development efforts.
The activity ended with an open forum where the students raised questions and concerns with the international internship. These were answered by Bixter Academy representatives. (RCS-CAC)
