Concerned over the recent school shooting incident in Zamboanga City and a series of school safety incidents reported across the country, Gov. RV Evardone has called an urgent meeting with education, law enforcement, and local government officials to strengthen security measures in schools across Eastern Samar.
The ongoing meeting brings together representatives from the DepEd Eastern Samar Division, DepEd Borongan City Division, Borongan City government, Eastern Samar Provincial Police Office, and the DILG Eastern Samar Office, Provincial Youth Development Office to assess existing safety measures and discuss possible interventions to protect students, teachers, and school personnel.
