The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Eastern Samar Provincial Office conducts World Cafe of Opportunities in celebration of the agency’s 32nd anniversary and National Tech-Voc Day today in General MacArthur, Eastern Samar.
The celebration carried the theme “Husay. Tibay. Tagumpay” and brought together TVET alumni, government agencies, industry partners, employers, and other stakeholders.
The World Café, conducted under TESDA’s Programang Pang-TVET Alumni, provided participants with access to employment assistance, government services, business support, and other programs.
Participating agencies and partners, including DOLE, PhilHealth, DTI, PSA, and the Chan Group of Companies, provided information and assistance on employment, social protection, and entrepreneurship.
The activity also featured skills demonstrations in cake decoration, bartending, massage, health care, and photovoltaic systems installation, along with free haircuts, manicure and pedicure services, and displays of agricultural products for sale.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony formally opened the event.
TESDA Region VIII Regional Director Dan M. Navarro, joined TESDA Eastern Samar officials, TESDA-accredited school administrators, local government representatives, and other stakeholders in the celebration.
Gov. RV Evardone, who graced the event, commended TESDA for helping people acquire skills that can lead to employment, particularly those who did not pursue or complete college education.
“TESDA is one of the most efficient agencies. Why? Because, (there’s) a lot of products from TESDA. Katapos niyo mag-aram kon ano nga skills an iyo pinili, more than likely job-ready na kamo,” Evardone said.
“Ngan kadak-an nga mga nahuhuman nga nagkuha hin NC II, NC III, kon ano man mga certificates han TESDA, most of the time may-ada nakukuha nga trabaho. Asay nga ak pag-siring nga very efficient it pag-TESDA,” he added.
Evardone also highlighted updates on the proposed establishment of a TESDA building at the provincial level as part of efforts to expand access to technical-vocational training in Eastern Samar.
The celebration is part of activities for National Tech-Voc Day, observed every August 25 under Republic Act No.10970. (TAC-GBP)
