North Division champion Abtik Sulat drew first blood in the Eastern Samar Basketball and Volleyball League (ESBVL) Season 6 Boys Volleyball Finals, grinding out a hard-fought victory against South Division powerhouse Quinapondan in Game 1 of their best-of-3 championship series today, June 21, 2026, at Sulat Gymnasium.
Sulat bounced back after dropping the first set, 23-25, to win the next three sets.
Sulat dominated the second frame 25-15, before wrapping up the third (25-22) and fourth (25-21) sets to close out the match, 3-1.
Quinapondan will fight to extend the series and force a decider when the teams meet again in Game 2 on June 27, 2026. (SEJ-GBP)
