by | May 28, 2026 | News

The provincial government of Eastern Samar joined the nationwide observance of National Flag Day on May 28, marking the start of such annual celebration that runs until June 12, Philippine Independence Day.
National Flag Day commemorates the historic first unfurling of the Philippine flag during the victory of Filipino revolutionaries in the Battle of Alapan in Imus, Cavite, in 1898.
In solidarity with the nation’s celebration of patriotism and freedom, the provincial government, under the leadership of Gov. RV Evardone, displayed Philippine flags in the Capitol Building as a symbol of unity, nationalism, and respect for the country’s rich history and independence. (TAC-JDM)
