During the 63rd Commencement Exercises of Eastern Samar State University Salcedo Campus on May 13, 2026, Gov. RV Evardone shared his congratulatory message emphasizing “Do not fear going slowly, fear only standing still”.
In his congratulatory message to the Class of 2026, the governor emphasized that graduation is not the end, but the beginning of a new journey filled with uncertainties, challenges, and opportunities.
He encouraged the graduates to keep moving forward despite life’s struggles and to not compare their progress with others.
“Don’t take slow progress as failure. Iba-iba an paces,” he said, while also reminding the graduates to remain kind and humane as they pursue their dreams.
“Never lose your humanity in the process. Keep being human,” he added.
The ceremony was graced by commencement speaker Cong. Sheen Gonzales, together with distinguished guests including CHED Regional Director Maximo Aljibe, University President Andres Pagatpatan and others.
Closing his message, Gov. Evardone left the graduates with a heartfelt reminder: “Keep moving forward.” (RCS-GBP)
