Emphasizing that education is a shared community responsibility, the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office (SDO) of Eastern Samar spearheaded this year’s OPLAN Balik Eskwela 2026 today, which brought together various national government agencies, public utilities, law enforcement units, and provincial stakeholders to ensure a safe, smooth, and orderly opening of classes for learners in the province.
In his welcome address, Senior Education Program Specialist for Social Mobilization Section Abner Aclao highlighted the indispensable role of external stakeholders in the upcoming school year, stating that, “It takes a village. A strong, united village for our Eastern Samar learners.”
He pointed out that while DepEd works tirelessly to prepare schools, the agency can only do so much without the active participation of its partners.
Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Raymond Capacite echoed this sentiment, delivering an inspiring message on inclusivity.
In his message of support, Gov. RV Evardone assured the body of the provincial government’s sustained backing and guaranteed that the provincial governor’s office will continue to pour resources and policy support into DepEd’s initiatives, ensuring that no learner is left behind.
Key partners in attendance included representatives from DICT, PIA, DILG, PDRRMO, DTI, DSWD, ESPPO, ESAMELCO, PSA, BFP, the Philippine Army, LTO, DOST, local media partners, and provincial stakeholders.
Together, these member agencies provide guidelines on health, safety, peace and order, transportation, and other relevant and important preparations for learners and schools as the new school year starts.
