The Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities (ICSC), represented by Arturo Tahup, director for community resilience, and Charisse Parchamento, campaign and advocacy officer, met with Gov. RV Evardone today, March 24, 2026, at the PGO Conference Room regarding the province’s local energy roadmap.
The meeting focused on the establishment of a multi-sectoral technical working group (TWG) tasked with integrating energy planning into provincial investment and infrastructure. The TWG includes executive leadership, planning and budget officers, and technical representatives from PEO and PDRRM to ensure a cohesive approach to energy governance.
This serves as the initial step toward the development of a Local Energy Plan and a comprehensive Local Energy Roadmap.
The initiative aims to institutionalize sustainable energy practices and enhance community resilience across the province.
This provincial-level collaboration builds on the existing Memorandums of Understanding between the ICSC and the municipalities of Guiuan, Oras, and Salcedo.
Also present at the meeting were Board Member Atty. Pearl Evardone-See Bok, Sangguniang Panlalawigan chair on energy, and Provincial Budget Officer Atty. Cyril Alzate. (SEJ-GBP)
