Abtik Sulat booked their championship spot after outlasting Dolores’ squad in their three-set battle during the Eastern Samar Basketball and Volleyball League (ESBVL) Season 6 North Division Volleyball Boys Finals after securing two sets.
Sulat showcased their firepower early on, taking the opening frame, 25-20.
Refusing to go down without a fight, Dolores roared back in the second set, weaponizing their net defense and localized runs to steal a close 21-17 victory and force a deciding third set.
But the final frame belonged entirely to Sulat.
Re-establishing their offensive rhythm and dominant floor defense, Sulat choked out Dolores’ comeback hopes early in the third, cruising to a comfortable 25-16 finish to secure the divisional crown.
With the North Division title in hand, Sulat now advances to the ultimate ESBVL championship tilt, where they will face the kings of the South Division for the tournament’s absolute bragging rights. (SEJ-GBP)
