The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Eastern Samar convened for its 58th regular legislative session on August 7, 2026, to review administrative agreements, address municipal concerns, and deliberate on local fiscal measures.
Presided over by Vice Gov. Maria Caridad S. Goteesan, the provincial board considered several key initiatives authorizing executive action.
Among the top items on the agenda were proposed partnerships involving national government agencies, non-government organizations, and regional institutions aimed at enhancing local infrastructure, government performance systems, public healthcare training, and clean energy initiatives across the province.
The body also reviewed legislative submissions from component local government units, including municipal resolutions regarding local ordinances and staffing matters.
In addition, fiscal governance formed a major portion of the day’s deliberations.
The Committee on Finance and Appropriations evaluated multiple municipal supplemental budget requests, alongside a major annual budget measure, ensuring proper fund allocations for local government operations, personnel services, and development projects. (SEJ-TAC)
