The Eastern Samar State University (ESSU) – Can-avid Campus inaugurated two key infrastructure projects: the Gymnasium Right Wing Extension and the Alternative Learning and Technology (ALT) Building for Agriculture on March 25 at the ESSU Can-avid Gymnasium.
The gymnasium’s right wing extension was donated by the Provincial Government of Eastern Samar under the leadership of Gov. RV Evardone.
Campus Administrator Dr. Geronimo A. Ellado, during his welcome remarks, shared that the project was requested by the campus administration, to which the governor promptly responded with three positive letters — a big “YES.”
Three days after the said request, the Provincial Engineering Office conducted an inspection of the proposed extension. Construction began two weeks later and was completed within two months.
Gov. Evardone emphasized the importance of promoting student wellness and providing improved facilities that support student activities and development.
Meanwhile, the ALT Building, which will temporarily serve as the College of Agriculture’s facility, was donated by Can-avid Municipal Mayor Alicia Teves and her family as she mentioned in her speech.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Gov. Evardone; Mayor Teves; Dr. Ellado; Dr. Norberto I. Ladisla, administrative and support services director; Dr. Dailyn M. Ellado, college dean; along with faculty members, staff, and students. (TAC-GBP-ARV)
