The provincial government, in partnership with
various agencies, led the 33rd National Children’s Month celebration on November 18, 2025, at the Capitol Gym.
This year’s theme, “OSAEC at CSAEM: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng mga Bata, Ipaglaban,” highlighted the importance of protecting children from both online and offline abuse.
The event gathered students and youth delegates from different schools across the province, underscoring the government’s commitment to championing children’s rights and welfare.
Gov. RV Evardone opened the program with a message, stressing the urgency of addressing child-related offenses.
He revealed that the province has recorded 72 rape cases involving minors, among other alarming incidents, emphasizing the need for stronger preventive measures, community reporting, and family support.
Key agencies such as Young Hands, Save the Children, COPE, PNP, DILG Eastern Samar, Plan International Pilipinas, DOJ, KOICA, Department of Education Eastern Samar Division as well as Board Member Timmy Campomanes, joined the activity, showing united support for child protection initiatives in the province.
