Guiuan is promoted to be the next Boracay of the Philippines because of its fine sand (beaches ) and the surfing activities especially in Cali-coan. There are upper scale resorts in Calico-an and the yoga area that they are saying located at the highest part of the area.
Dumpao beach resort in guiuan is a very simple yet big and long beach resort but that is the beach that I had really relaxed and come close to nature. Although the sand is not as fine (because of the tiny shells on the surface ) as in the neighbor Calico-an, its still powdery clean and the water is clean. The beach is long, kids can enjoy much playing esp during low tide since you will not worry about their safety. The resort has full of plants and trees and even cows. You can set up your bonfire and tents with a minimal fee. There is no TV nor Radio in the cottage. It is very relaxing , quiet, peaceful. You are away from the noise of the city. There is ample water supply in this resort, bed is comfortable with pillows and bed covers and electric fan is provided. Usually the electric supply is cut off during daytime but you will not mind it because the air is refreshing and its relaxation, sun, water and nature that you are there for.

HOW TO GET THERE : FROM MANILA :
- BY AIR to TACLOBAN, then 3 hours road trip. You will pass by the famous and beuatiful San Juanico bridge connecting Tacloban and Samar. The longest bridge in the country.
- BY LAND FROM MANILA- BUSES
- VIA INTER-ISLAND SHIPS
In Eastern Samar, just tell driver you are going to Guiuan. In Guiuan, people knows where Dumpao Resort is.
