Three young surfers from the Surf Riders Club of Eastern Samar made their mark in the recently concluded Calicoan Odyssey Waves 2025 competition held in Guiuan. Marionel “Nano” Capacite, seeing action in the junior boys shortboard category, and Danica Jane Lebrilla in the junior girls shortboard category, both secured equal third-place finishes after days of intense competition against some of the region’s best young surfers.
Meanwhile, John Michael Factor also delivered an impressive performance, finishing with an equal fifth place in the junior boys shortboard category.
Adding to the pride of Guiuan is the youngest surfer in the local lineup, Rochin Dalora, who made her presence known by finishing equal fifth place in the junior girls shortboard category. (TAC-GBP-JDM)
